Singer Sukhwinder Singh Launches Heart Health Awareness Drive

K J Somaiya Hospital & Research Centre marked World Heart Day with a special awareness drive aligned with this year’s global theme, “Timely Detection & Action for Heart Care, so that you don’t miss a beat.”

The Heart Care kiosk was inaugurated by renowned playback singer Shri Sukhwinder Singh, who stressed the vital role played by expert heart specialists at centres like K J Somaiya Hospital & Research Centre. “A heart that has gone out of rhythm cannot be corrected by lifestyle changes alone. What truly saves lives is the expertise of good doctors and the advancement of medical science. Hospitals like K J Somaiya Hospital play such a vital role in society,” he said.

Dr. Manisha Bobade, CEO, K J Somaiya Hospital & Research Centre, emphasized the need for awareness:“Heart disease is on the rise in India, with an alarming increase among younger people. While prevention remains the strongest line of defence, early detection and timely intervention & action are equally critical. By making heart health a part of our daily routine, we can ease the growing burden of disease and ensure ‘We don’t miss a beat’ in protecting our lives and those we care for.”

The event was also attended by Lt. Gen. H. S. Kahlon (Secretary) and eminent cardiologist Dr. Sadanand Shetty, along with doctors, nurses, and community members.

Encouraged by the strong response, the hospital plans to conduct similar programmes to further its commitment to community wellness and preventive healthcare.
