Joyous Raas Garba Night Featuring Singer Jahnvi Shrimankar

The campus of Somaiya Vidyavihar came alive on the evening of 6th October with the vibrant beats of dandiya and the joyous spirit of Navratri during the much-awaited Raas Garba Night. The celebration was a colourful blend of tradition, music, and infectious energy, as students gathered to revel in one of the most cherished festivals of the year.

The highlight of the evening was a live performance by the talented singer Ms Jahnvi Shrimankar, whose soulful and energetic renditions set the perfect tone for the festivities. Her melodious voice filled the venue with a festive rhythm, inspiring everyone to take to the dance floor and celebrate the night with unrestrained enthusiasm.

Dressed in bright, traditional attire, students showcased their graceful moves and cultural pride, creating a beautiful spectacle of whirling ghagras, twirling kediyus, and glowing smiles. The event also recognised outstanding participants with special titles — the best-dressed male and female, who stunned everyone with their elegant outfits, and the crowd-favourite best dancer, whose energy and passion lit up the floor.

Beyond the music and dance, the evening reflected something deeper — a sense of togetherness and community that defines Somaiya’s festive spirit. The event not only celebrated the joy of Navratri but also strengthened the bonds among students, reminding everyone of the cultural richness and unity that thrive on campus.
