Twenty-eight Nursing students received scholarships through the “Grow Beyond Yourself” programme, a joint initiative of K J Somaiya Medical Trust and Evonik Catalysts India. The programme is designed to back students who show strong academic potential but face financial barriers, covering 100% of their tuition fees and offering structured personality development and industry-readiness training.
The event, held in Mumbai, marked the second year of Evonik Catalysts India’s support. This year’s partnership was dedicated to employability training, further strengthening the programme’s focus on preparing students for real-world healthcare roles.
Scholarship recipients for the academic years 2024–25 and 2025–26 were chosen through a detailed evaluation process led by Ms Vidya Gopinath (CSR Lead, Evonik India), Ms Jayashree Salvi (Vice Principal, K J Somaiya College of Nursing), and Ms Damini Karode (Manager – Financial Aid & Scholarships, Somaiya Vidyavihar University).
This collaboration reflects Somaiya’s ongoing commitment to nurturing skilled healthcare professionals and supporting students from underserved backgrounds. It also reinforces the Trust’s larger mission of advancing social responsibility and community well-being.
Across Somaiya Vidyavihar, K J Somaiya Medical Trust, and Somaiya Vidyavihar University, a wide range of scholarships amounting to more than ₹30 crore are offered each year. These initiatives ensure that students from diverse disciplines and backgrounds have access to quality education and the opportunity to build fulfilling, impactful careers.
